Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a fully remote role in financial services. The ideal candidate will lead advanced analytical efforts, build predictive models and translate findings into business actions.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, design robust data pipelines and mentor teammates. Requirements include a Master's/PhD in a quantitative field, 5–7 years in data science within banking, strong Python or R skills, and experience with ML libraries and cloud tech.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• 5–7 years of Data Scientist experience in financial services/banking.
• Strong Python or R skills with common libraries.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy ML models for predictive analytics, segmentation, fraud detection and risk assessment.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into data science problems.
• Develop data pipelines and ETL processes for model training and deployment.
• Evaluate new data science technologies and methodologies.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor junior data scientists and share knowledge.
• Ensure ethical and responsible use of data and models.
• Stay updated with advances in data science, ML, and AI.
• Contribute to strategic direction of data science function.
