Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Software Developer to join our client's telecom product team. You will design, code, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Java, Python, or Go, delivering scalable telecom solutions in a fully remote setup across South Africa.

You will work with global engineers and product managers, implement database solutions, harness cloud platforms and containers, and contribute to architecture and code quality in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development with backend focus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Java, Python, or Go.
• Design and implement efficient database solutions (SQL/NoSQL).
• Collaborate with front-end developers and system architects to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate in code reviews and CI.
• Contribute to architectural design and technical roadmap of telecom platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects and performance issues in production.
