Placements24 seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with aerospace structures expertise to join a remote team serving clients near Nelspruit. You will design, analyze, and validate critical aircraft components in a fully virtual environment.

Required are 8+ years in aerospace structural design/analysis, advanced FEA and CAD skills (NASTRAN/ANSYS; CATIA V5, SolidWorks), and a deep understanding of composites, metallic structures, and aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in aerospace structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in FEA software (NASTRAN, ANSYS) and CAD systems (CATIA V5, SolidWorks).
• Deep understanding of composite materials, metallic structures, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of aerospace structures, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
• Perform advanced structural analysis, including FEA, fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
• Develop detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings adhering to stringent aerospace standards (AMS).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, materials science, and testing teams in a fully remote setting.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant aerospace regulations and airworthiness requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
