Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Engineer to join the design and development team in Vereeniging. You will lead structural design, analysis, and testing of aircraft components and airframes.

You will use FEA tools (NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS) and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure airworthiness and structural integrity under flight conditions. The role requires a Master's in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with a structures specialization, with strong materials,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (structures).
• Proven experience in aircraft structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency with FEA software: NASTRAN, ANSYS, or ABAQUS.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, composites, fatigue/fracture mechanics.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for aircraft components using FEA.
• Develop and validate structural test plans and procedures.
• Ensure airworthiness compliance for structural integrity (SACAA/EASA/FAA).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams on design changes.
• Create and review technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
