About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding national service provider, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Remote Sanitation Operations Manager. This role is entirely remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of sanitation and hygiene standards across multiple client sites nationwide. This position requires a strong leader with extensive knowledge of best practices in industrial and commercial sanitation, regulatory compliance, and team management, all executed through virtual channels. The ideal candidate is adept at leveraging technology to monitor operations, train remote teams, and ensure consistent service delivery without direct physical supervision. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine national sanitation policies and procedures for remote implementation and oversight.
• Strategize and manage the deployment of cleaning and sanitation resources across various geographic locations.
• Utilize technology and data analytics to monitor site sanitation performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct virtual training sessions and provide ongoing support to site-based cleaning teams and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage budgets and resources allocated for sanitation operations nationwide.
• Liaise with clients remotely to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction with sanitation services.
• Develop and implement crisis management plans related to sanitation and hygiene.
• Oversee the procurement and distribution of sanitation supplies and equipment.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in sanitation practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sanitation management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Proven ability to manage operations remotely and effectively lead distributed teams.
• Deep understanding of sanitation best practices, HACCP, and relevant health and safety legislation.
• Exceptional strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for communication, project management, and performance monitoring.

• A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
