About the Role

You will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and launching cutting-edge financial products and services, leveraging emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of Fintech innovation projects, from ideation and feasibility analysis to product development, testing, and launch.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with product owners, engineering teams, and business leaders.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, data scientists, UX/UI designers, and compliance officers, in a remote setting.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly those related to technology, market adoption, and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among all project participants and stakeholders using digital collaboration tools.
• Oversee the integration of new technologies, such as AI, blockchain, and APIs, into financial platforms.
• Track project progress, key milestones, and deliverables, providing regular, insightful reports to senior management.
• Ensure all projects adhere to stringent security, regulatory (e.g., FICA, POPIA), and compliance standards within the financial services industry.
• Foster an environment of continuous innovation and rapid iteration.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, CFA) are advantageous.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on Fintech, financial services, or technology innovation projects.
• Demonstrated success managing complex, fast-paced projects in a remote or distributed team environment.
• In-depth knowledge of the Fintech ecosystem, including payments, lending, insurtech, and digital banking.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product development lifecycles.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana) and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic and evolving industry.
• Must be a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, comfortable working independently remotely within South Africa .
