Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Production Planner to oversee production schedules across multiple manufacturing sites from a fully remote setup in South Africa. • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in production planning and scheduling within manufacturing.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and advanced planning software.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials management and inventory control.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate remotely.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote work environment.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet demand forecasts and customer orders.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and manufacturing teams to align production plans.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to changes or disruptions.
• Optimize resource allocation (materials, machinery, labor) to maximize efficiency.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Implement and manage production planning systems and tools.
• Generate reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and inventory status.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in planning activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function.
