Placements24 partners with a global chemical operations leader to hire a remote-based Chemical Process Safety Specialist. The role drives safety management, hazard identification, and risk mitigation across all chemical processes, fostering a strong safety culture worldwide.

The successful candidate will develop and implement safety programs, lead PHAs, RCAs, and training, and ensure compliance with PSM standards while collaborating with teams remotely to safeguard people and assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related safety discipline.
• 5+ years of process safety experience in chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Knowledge of PSM standards (OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Experience leading PHAs and RCAs.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Process Safety Specialist to join their team on a fully remote basis. This critical role will focus on ensuring the highest standards of safety across all chemical operations, developing and implementing robust safety management systems, and providing expert guidance on hazard identification and risk mitigation. You will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization, working with various departments to maintain compliance with national and international safety regulations. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in process safety, a proactive approach to risk management, and excellent communication skills to effectively influence and train stakeholders remotely. This is a key position contributing to the safety and sustainability of our client's operations globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive process safety programs and procedures.
• Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
• Provide training and guidance to employees and management on process safety best practices.
• Maintain process safety information (PSI) and management of change (MOC) procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety discipline.
• 5+ years of experience specifically focused on process safety in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
