Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to strengthen safety across global oil and gas facilities from a home office. You will develop, implement, and maintain robust PSM systems, conduct PHAs, HAZOP/LOPA, and What-If studies, focus on risk assessment and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in process safety within oil & gas, strong communication, and remote incident investigation and training leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in process safety engineering in Oil & Gas.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and risk assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards and regulations related to process safety.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Ability to communicate and influence stakeholders remotely.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This role is crucial for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems within the Oil & Gas industry . You will work entirely remotely, conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver training on process safety principles and procedures to relevant personnel.
• Review engineering designs and management of change (MOC) processes to ensure inherent safety is maintained.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for process safety and report on safety performance to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a strong background in the Oil & Gas sector.
