Placements24 is seeking a Remote Process Optimization Specialist for a leading chemical manufacturer. Based remotely with operations anchored in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA, you will apply process engineering, data analysis and automation to optimize workflows and reduce waste.

You will collaborate with distributed engineering teams, use advanced analytics tools (Aspen Plus, MATLAB, Python), and focus on safety and regulatory compliance while driving efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in process engineering, optimization, or a similar role within manufacturing, preferably chemical.
• Experience with data analysis, process simulation software, and lean Six Sigma is desirable.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering, optimization, or a similar role within the manufacturing sector, preferably chemical.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of process simulation software and data analysis tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB, Python).
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is highly desirable.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with automation technologies and their application in manufacturing.
• Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace conducive to remote work.
• Understanding of chemical plant safety protocols and environmental regulations.
