Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of process simulation, SPC, and lean manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD and process modeling tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Process Engineer to join their distributed engineering team. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. You will collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to implement process improvements and troubleshoot complex technical challenges. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to contribute significantly to our manufacturing excellence initiatives supporting operations near Mossel Bay.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes or modify existing ones.
• Conduct process analysis and data collection to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
• Develop and execute experiments to test process improvements and validate new methodologies.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including flowcharts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control plans.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and engineering teams on the selection and implementation of new machinery.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent product quality and output.
