Placements24 is seeking a Principal Scientist in Genomics to lead high-impact research initiatives within a fully remote organization. You will shape strategic directions, mentor a team of scientists, and push the boundaries of genomic discovery.

The role focuses on developing innovative pipelines, identifying biomarkers, and translating findings into clinical applications, while staying at the forefront of NGS technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD with a minimum of 8 years of relevant research experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing research projects and teams.
• Expertise in human genetics, population genomics, and statistical genetics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of large-scale genomic research projects, including whole-genome sequencing, exome sequencing, and RNA-seq analysis.
• Develop and validate novel genomic analysis pipelines and computational tools.
• Interpret complex genomic datasets to identify disease-associated genetic variants and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and external partners to translate genomic findings into clinical applications.
• Mentor and manage a team of junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and innovation.
• Stay at the forefront of genomic technologies and methodologies, evaluating and implementing new approaches.
