Placements24 is seeking a Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer for its fully remote engineering division. You will architect and integrate complex mechanical systems for high‑tech products, and lead design from concept through production while coordinating with global teams.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in mechanical systems design, expert CAD/CAE skills (SolidWorks Premium, CATIA, ANSYS/COMSOL), and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in mechanical systems design, focusing on complex, integrated systems.
• Experience leading large-scale engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks Premium and CATIA; CAE tools like ANSYS or COMSOL.
• Strong system dynamics, control theory and mechatronics knowledge.
• Proven validation and verification planning experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Responsabilités

• Architect and develop intricate mechanical systems for new products.
• Lead mechanical system design from concept to production release.
• Perform advanced simulations (thermal, structural, modal, vibration).
• Collaborate with hardware, software and firmware engineers.
• Define system requirements, interfaces and validation strategies.
• Oversee prototype development, testing and validation.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to a team of mechanical engineers.
• Conduct technical design reviews and advise on trade-offs.
• Stay abreast of technologies and identify integration opportunities.
