Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Automotive Powertrain Development Engineer for a remote-first role. You will design, develop, and calibrate ICE, hybrid, and e-drive powertrains, optimizing performance, efficiency, and emissions across multiple vehicle platforms using advanced simulation and test data.

You will lead calibration strategies, analyze datasets from dynamometer testing, and collaborate with a global team to push the boundaries of powertrain technology while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 6+ years in automotive powertrain development focusing on calibration and control systems.
• Experience with engine dynamometers, data acquisition, and calibration tools (INCA, ETAS).
• Strong thermodynamics knowledge and hybrid powertrain understanding.
• Proficient in GT-Power and MATLAB/Simulink; comfortable with remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and calibrate powertrains (ICE, hybrid, electric) to meet targets.
• Analyze performance data using simulations and dynamometer results.
• Develop engine control strategies for various operating conditions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams for integration.
• Troubleshoot powertrain issues during development, testing, or production.
• Stay updated on powertrain tech, fuels, electrification, and emissions strategies.
• Prepare technical reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Use advanced simulation and modeling tools for design and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and regulations.
