Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Powertrain Calibration Engineer to optimize powertrains for efficiency, performance and emissions across gasoline, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles. The role focuses on developing calibration strategies and validating ECU parameters using INCA and ECU-TEST, with in-vehicle or dyno testing and data-driven adjustments.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in automotive powertrain calibration, knowledge of ICE and EV architectures, and strong data

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
6+ years of progressive experience in automotive powertrain calibration.
Extensive knowledge of internal combustion engine operation, thermodynamics, and emissions control systems.
Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle powertrain architectures, including BMS and motor control.
Proficiency with calibration tools and software (ETAS INCA, MATLAB/Simulink).

Responsibilities

Develop, implement and validate calibration strategies for gasoline, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains.
Utilize calibration tools (INCA, ECU-TEST) to modify ECU parameters.
Perform in-vehicle and dynamometer testing to assess powertrain performance.
Analyze test data to diagnose issues and refine control strategies.
Collaborate with design, software and validation teams to integrate calibration needs.
Document calibration procedures, test results and final settings.
Stay updated on powertrain tech, calibration techniques and emissions regulations.
Troubleshoot calibration problems and propose solutions.
Contribute to automated calibration processes and tools.
Ensure safety and drivability through calibration.
