Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Remote Industrial Automation Specialist to design, implement, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems from a remote SA base. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in industrial automation with PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI design.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus.
• Experience in system integration and process control optimization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for remote diagnosis.
• Exceptional communication and virtual collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple remote projects.
• Proficiency with simulation software and remote access tools.
• Robotics and advanced manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation projects.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for automated processes and equipment.
• Conduct virtual commissioning and testing of automation solutions.
• Analyze industrial processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and programming logic.
• Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and engineering teams via virtual channels.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues, often requiring remote access to systems.
• Occasionally travel to client sites for critical project phases or on-site interventions, potentially in the Mossel Bay area.
