Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Pharmacovigilance Officer to join the safety surveillance team in Mahikeng. You will collect, assess, and report adverse event data to regulators, helping to safeguard patient safety and public health in South Africa.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor\'s degree in Pharmacy or Life Sciences, at least two years in pharmacovigilance, and familiarity with CIOMS, ICH, FDA, and EMA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 2 years in pharmacovigilance or drug safety.
• Knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations (CIOMS, ICH, FDA, EMA).
• Experience with safety databases and adverse event reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and process adverse event reports from various sources.
• Assess narratives for completeness and accuracy, performing medical coding where necessary.
• Ensure timely reporting of adverse events to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in signal detection activities and contribute to risk management plans.
• Maintain pharmacovigilance databases and ensure compliance with global safety regulations.
