Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Pharmacovigilance Specialist for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will monitor safety profiles of pharmaceutical products, collect and evaluate adverse events, and ensure compliance with SAHPRA and international guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds a Pharmacy/Medicine/Nursing degree and has at least 3 years of pharmacovigilance experience, with strong data analysis and clear written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Pharmacy/Medicine/Nursing or life science.
• Minimum of 3 years in pharmacovigilance or drug safety.
• Knowledge of SAHPRA, FDA, EMA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and evaluate adverse event reports from various sources.
• Conduct medical reviews of adverse event data for regulatory reporting.
• Prepare and submit PSURs and other regulatory safety documents.
• Maintain pharmacovigilance database ensuring data integrity.
• Develop and update SOPs related to pharmacovigilance activities.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage safety information.
