Placements24 is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a fully remote role serving Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape. The clinician will conduct telehealth assessments, design individualized treatment plans for infants and young children, and coach families to implement strategies at home.

You will document progress in an EHR, collaborate with a network of therapists, and stay aligned with best practices in telehealth and pediatric therapy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current registration and licensure with the HPCSA.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in pediatric occupational therapy, with a focus on early intervention (0-6 years).
• Demonstrated proficiency in using telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and other digital tools for remote therapy delivery.
• Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration theory, and various pediatric therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Superb communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children and families remotely.
• A stable, high-speed internet connection and a private, professional home office environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, family-centered care.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy assessments via secure telehealth platforms.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and play skills.
• Deliver engaging and evidence-based virtual therapy sessions to infants, toddlers, and young children.
• Provide education, coaching, and support to parents and caregivers to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines.
• Monitor and document client progress accurately and efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Collaborate with families, physicians, educators, and other allied health professionals via virtual communication channels.
• Stay current with best practices, research, and technological advancements in pediatric occupational therapy and telehealth.
• Adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each child and family within a virtual setting.
• Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and regulatory standards for remote healthcare provision.
