Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement and maintain robust, secure network systems for a distributed workforce across South Africa. You will architect and operate LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and VPNs, with an emphasis on reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT with 5+ years in network administration, strong TCP/IP and routing knowledge (BGP/OSPF), VLANs, and network security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, latency, and security threats proactively.
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and technology deployments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal users and IT staff on network-related matters.
