Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to design, deploy, and secure a scalable global network from a home office. You will monitor performance, implement security controls, and troubleshoot complex issues across LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
• 5+ years in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS and routing protocols.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Familiarity with Wireshark, Nagios, SolarWinds.
• Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) desirable.
• Certs like CCNA/CCNP are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication, able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and resilient network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls).
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including IDS/IPS, access controls, and encryption.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, providing rapid response to incidents.
• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and policies.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network services with other infrastructure.
• Plan and execute upgrades and migrations to support growth.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network engineering and security.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal users and teams on connectivity and performance.
