Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote MEP Design Engineer to design energy-efficient mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for global projects. You will use BIM software to create accurate 3D models and coordinated drawings while collaborating with international teams in a fully remote environment.

The role requires a strong background in sustainable design principles, load calculations, and energy simulations, with experience in LEED/Green Star frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Pr.Eng. registration or equivalent highly preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in MEP design on sustainable building projects.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD and energy modeling tools.
• Solid understanding of LEED or Green Star rating systems.

They are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote MEP Design Engineer to contribute to their groundbreaking projects across the globe. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design from your chosen location. You will be responsible for designing energy-efficient and environmentally conscious MEP systems for a variety of building typologies. This role requires a strong understanding of sustainable design principles, advanced modeling techniques, and the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative MEP systems for sustainable building projects, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing services. Utilize BIM software (e.g., Revit MEP) to create detailed 3D models and coordinated drawings. Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and system simulations to optimize performance and sustainability. Specify energy-efficient equipment and renewable energy integration solutions. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, energy standards (e.g., SANS, ASHRAE), and environmental regulations. Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders in a remote setting. Conduct virtual design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams. Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and construction administration support. Research and evaluate new sustainable technologies and materials for MEP applications. Assist in the tendering process and provide support during construction phases. Contribute to the development of best practices in sustainable MEP design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng.) registration or equivalent is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in MEP design, with a strong focus on sustainable building projects.
• Proficiency in MEP design software, including Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and energy modeling tools (e.g., IES VE, eQUEST).
• Solid understanding of sustainable design principles, LEED, or Green Star rating systems.
• Excellent knowledge of HVAC, electrical power distribution, lighting design, and plumbing systems.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
