The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in life sciences and at least four years of medical writing experience in pharma or biotech, with strong regulatory knowledge, attention to detail, and proficiency in Word and document management systems.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences (Master's or PhD).
• Minimum of 4 years as a Medical Writer in pharma/biotech.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Medical Writer to join their team, supporting communications efforts for projects based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This position is fully remote, enabling you to contribute to critical medical communication projects from any location in South Africa. You will be responsible for creating clear, accurate, and scientifically sound documents for regulatory, clinical, and marketing purposes, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of pharmaceutical development and a gift for translating complex scientific information into accessible formats.

Key Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and review a variety of medical documents, including clinical study reports (CSRs), Investigator's Brochures (IBs), and regulatory submission documents.
• Develop and prepare scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for publication and conferences.
• Ensure all documents are scientifically accurate, clearly written, and compliant with relevant regulatory requirements and company style guides.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs.
• Manage document production timelines and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of document templates and style guides.
