Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Mechanical Systems Engineer to join a globally distributed team. Based remotely, you will support operations near Mossel Bay and design, analyze, and optimize complex mechanical systems.

You will rely on FEA and CFD tools, collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and software developers across time zones, and prepare detailed documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test sophisticated mechanical systems and components for new and existing products.
• Conduct in-depth analysis using FEA and CFD tools to optimize system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional remote teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and software developers, via digital communication platforms.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies within a remote work setting.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems in the field.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical system design and analysis.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software and advanced simulation/analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage projects effectively in a remote environment.
