Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Engineer specialized in materials science to join their advanced research team in a fully remote capacity. You will lead the development of novel materials, from conceptualization and synthesis through characterization and testing, contributing to cutting-edge applications.

The ideal candidate has a PhD or MSc in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, 5+ years in materials R&D, and a proven track record in synthesis, characterization, and data

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials research and development.
• Expertise in material synthesis, characterization, and structure–property relationships.
• Proficiency with advanced analytical instrumentation and data interpretation.
• Experience with computational materials modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and synthesize novel chemical materials with desired properties.
• Characterize material properties using analytical techniques (SEM, TEM, XRD, spectroscopy).
• Develop and optimize synthesis and processing methods for new materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new materials into product designs.
• Conduct literature reviews and stay abreast of advancements in materials science and chemical engineering.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and patent disclosures.
