Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Remote Logistics Optimisation Specialist to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of global logistics operations from a home office. The role focuses on bottleneck identification, scenario modelling, and actionable strategies across transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

You will work with minimal supervision, using SQL, Excel, and analytics tools, and collaborate with carriers and 3PLs to drive improvements in KPI

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in logistics optimization, network design, or transportation management.
• Proven expertise in using logistics optimization software (e.g., JDA, Blue Yonder, Llamasoft) and advanced analytical tools.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, warehousing operations, and supply chain principles.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and potentially Python or R.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage projects, and deliver results in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Analyse current logistics processes, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement across transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement optimisation strategies to reduce costs, improve transit times, and enhance service levels.
• Utilise advanced analytics, modelling tools, and simulation software to evaluate proposed changes and predict outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal operations teams, carriers, and 3PLs to gather data and implement optimisation plans.
• Design and monitor KPIs related to logistics efficiency, cost, and reliability.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new logistics strategies, technologies, or network structures.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining findings, recommendations, and the business case for change.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in logistics and supply chain optimisation.
• Ensure that optimisation strategies align with company objectives and sustainability goals.
• Manage multiple optimisation projects remotely in a fast-paced environment.
