Placements24 is seeking a Lead Sports Data Analyst to drive advanced analytics in a fully remote role. You will define analytical frameworks, build models for performance, fan engagement, and business development, and present insights to leadership.

You will mentor junior analysts, collaborate with performance, marketing, and strategy teams, and stay at the forefront of data science and sports analytics to shape the company's data-driven future.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 7–10 years of data analysis and data science experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or management role.
• Proven experience in sports analytics, with a strong understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Extensive experience with SQL and database management.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and big data technologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of analytical models to interpret sports performance data, player statistics, and fan behavior.
• Oversee the entire data analysis lifecycle from collection to interpretation of results.
• Mentor and guide a team of analysts, fostering continuous learning and innovation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across performance, marketing, and strategy teams to identify analytical needs.
• Design and conduct A/B testing and experiments to evaluate strategies.
• Develop compelling visualizations and reports to communicate findings to leadership.
• Stay updated on advances in data science, ML, and sports analytics technologies.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across analyses.
• Contribute to strategic direction with data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Present findings to senior leadership.
