Bridgena Barnard Personnel Group is recruiting a Remote Lead Automation Engineer specializing in PLC and SCADA for industrial processes. The role is fully remote within South Africa, leading a team of engineers and technicians and delivering sophisticated automation projects from conception to completion.

You will design, program, and test PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA software, while mentoring staff, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring standards and safety compliance across projects for global

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 8+ years in industrial automation with 3+ years in a lead role.
• Hands-on with PLC platforms (Siemens S7-1500, Rockwell ControlLogix) and SCADA (Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC).
• Proficiency in HMI development, Profinet/Ethernet/IP, and database management.
• Proven track record leading project teams and delivering complex automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex PLC and SCADA systems.
• Mentor a remote team of automation engineers and technicians.
• Develop project timelines, budgets, and allocate resources.
• Oversee PLC/HMI programming, configuration, and testing.
