Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to guide a talented remote team in building world-class web applications. You will shape UI/UX, drive performance, and set technical direction across React, Vue, or Angular projects.

You will mentor engineers, define coding standards, collaborate with design and backend teams, and champion accessibility while delivering scalable, robust interfaces for a global audience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years frontend development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Deep experience with at least one major frontend framework (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
• Strong understanding of state management, component libraries, and build tools (Webpack, Vite).
• Proven experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, SEO best practices, and web security.
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Architect and develop complex, scalable, and performant user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Establish and enforce frontend coding standards, best practices, and code review processes.
• Collaborate closely with backend developers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Drive innovation in frontend technologies and methodologies.
• Oversee the implementation of comprehensive testing strategies for frontend applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex frontend issues.
• Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for frontend development.
• Champion accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.
