Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Environment Artist to guide the creation of immersive game worlds. You will set the artistic vision, mentor a team of environment artists, and ensure environments are visually stunning and technically sound in a fully remote development setting.

You will specialize in high-quality 3D assets, textures, and materials, work with Unreal or Unity, and collaborate with level designers to craft engaging spaces while optimizing for performance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as an Environment Artist with a lead role and shipped titles.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership and environment work.
• Proficiency in Maya, Blender, Substance Suite and Photoshop.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity and modern lighting/set dressing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of environment artists with artistic direction.
• Create high-quality 3D environment assets (models, textures, materials).
• Maintain artistic style and technical standards for environments.
• Collaborate with level designers to build engaging spaces.
• Optimize assets for performance across platforms.
• Oversee environment implementation in the game engine with fidelity.
