Placements24 seeks a Lead Backend Engineer to design and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs. You will lead a team of backend engineers, set technical direction, and ensure performance, security, and reliability across services.

Qualifications include 2+ years in leadership, strong backend language skills, RESTful API design, and cloud/container experience. This fully remote role supports collaboration with global teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in backend teams.
• Strong experience designing scalable RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in one or more backend languages (Python/Java/Node.js/Go).
• Solid database design and experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB.
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with microservices architecture and remote collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Mentor backend engineers and set technical direction.
• Define backend architectural patterns and best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable code in one or more backend languages.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and other stakeholders on API requirements.
• Ensure security, performance, and reliability of services.
• Oversee databases and cloud infrastructure; perform code reviews.
