Placements24 is seeking a bright recent graduate to join our expanding development team as a Junior Software Developer. This fully remote role offers flexibility and the chance to work from anywhere in South Africa within an agile environment.

You will contribute to the full software lifecycle, learn new technologies, and collaborate with experienced engineers. A strong foundation in programming, OOP, and modern languages is essential, with remote collaboration across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming (OOP).
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with Git and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Strong problem-solving and clear remote communication.
• Self-motivated with time management for a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following standards.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Collaborate with senior devs and product managers to translate requirements.
• Debug defects and contribute to code reviews.
• Learn new technologies and document technical work.
• Engage in daily stand-ups and sprint planning.
• Troubleshoot and support production environments as needed.
