Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Corporate Legal Advisor to join its legal team in a fully remote role across South Africa. The ideal candidate is a newly admitted attorney eager to gain experience across corporate and commercial matters, drafting agreements, researching regulatory issues, and supporting governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (newly admitted or up to 3 years post-admission experience).
• Strong foundational understanding of corporate law principles.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and standard office software.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to a remote work setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and amending various commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Conduct legal research on corporate law, regulatory matters, and specific industry issues.
• Support the legal team in corporate governance activities and compliance initiatives.
• Help manage litigation support and document discovery processes.
• Maintain legal records and databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Provide general legal assistance to other departments as required.
