Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Auditor focused on compliance to join a robust, remote-first security team. The role evaluates information security controls, ensures adherence to GDPR/POPIA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and SOX, and identifies remediation actions to strengthen governance and risk management.

Five or fewer years of related audit/compliance experience is ideal, with professional certifications such as CISA or CISSP considered highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Accounting, or related field.
• 4-6+ years in information security, IT audit, or compliance roles.
• Experience auditing against ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, etc.
• Strong data privacy knowledge (GDPR, POPIA) and impact on controls.
• Familiar with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; clear audit reports.
• Ability to work independently on remote audits.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CGEIT desirable.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute information security audits across systems, applications, and processes.
• Assess compliance with GDPR, POPIA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOX, and other standards.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of information security controls.
• Identify control deficiencies, security risks, and improvement areas.
• Develop detailed audit reports with findings, risk assessments, and remediation steps.
• Work with auditees to develop and monitor remediation plans and track progress.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize threats and vulnerabilities.
• Stay updated on evolving compliance requirements, threats, and best practices.
• Provide guidance to business units on security and compliance matters.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal audit program and governance framework.
