Placements24 in South Africa seeks an experienced Information Security Auditor (compliance-focused) for a remote-first security team. You will audit controls, ensure GDPR/POPIA alignment and ISO 27001/PCI DSS readiness, and deliver remediation guidance for operations near Paarl, Western Cape.

The role requires 4–6 years in IT security, audit or compliance, strong analytical skills, and certifications such as CISA/CISSP. Flexible hours and remote work are offered.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in information security, IT audit or compliance.
• Experience auditing IT systems against frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT).
• Strong data privacy knowledge (GDPR/POPIA) and impact on security controls.
• Excellent written/verbal communication for audit reports.
• Ability to work remotely and manage multiple audits.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute information security audits across systems, apps and processes.
• Assess compliance with GDPR, POPIA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOX.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Identify deficiencies, risks and remediation opportunities.
• Develop audit reports with findings, risk assessments and actions.
• Collaborate with auditees to implement remediation and track progress.
• Conduct risk assessments to prioritize threats.
• Stay current with evolving compliance requirements and best practices.
• Provide guidance to business units on security and compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the internal audit program.
