Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Auditor to join our fully remote team. You will plan, conduct, and report on audits across IT systems and processes, ensuring adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in information security auditing, knowledge of COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, and relevant certifications. Remote work offers flexibility and exposure to diverse tech environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of information security auditing, risk management, or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of IT audit principles, methodologies and frameworks (COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Experience with risk assessment and control testing.
• Familiarity with IT systems: networks, databases, applications.
• Certifications such as CISA, CRISC or CISSP are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute information security audits for policy and regulation compliance.
• Evaluate effectiveness of technical, administrative, and physical controls.
• Identify gaps and risks; recommend corrective actions.
• Document audit findings and recommendations in reports.
• Follow up on findings to ensure remediation.
• Stay updated on GDPR, POPIA, SOX and other standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors.
• Develop and maintain audit plans and work programs.
• Provide guidance on security best practices related to audit and compliance.
