Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Officer to join its Sandton-based team. You will implement security policies, monitor systems, conduct risk assessments, and lead security awareness initiatives to protect data and assets.

The role requires 4+ years in information security, familiarity with NIST/ISO 27001, and experience with firewalls, SIEM, and IDS. Remote-friendly with strong collaboration across IT and business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in information security or IT security roles.
• Good understanding of security principles, frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), and best practices.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, IDS, and SIEM.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (POPIA) and industry standards.
• Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CISM are a plus.
