About the Role
Our client, a progressive manufacturing technology firm, is seeking an innovative **Remote** Industrial Engineer to spearhead the design and optimization of production systems. This role is crucial for developing efficient, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions that can be implemented globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in lean manufacturing, simulation, and system design, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving. As a fully **remote** position, this opportunity offers unparalleled flexibility, requiring excellent communication and project management skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across different time zones. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and validating production layouts, workflows, and automation strategies. This is an exciting chance to shape the future of manufacturing processes from a **remote** location, contributing to a company at the forefront of industrial innovation. We are looking for a self-starter with a proven ability to deliver results without direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop optimal production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems using CAD and simulation software.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, improve throughput, and reduce production cycle times.
- Analyze production data to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies for automation and the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed system designs and modifications.
- Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and R&D, to ensure seamless implementation.
- Create detailed documentation, including process flow diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and user manuals.
- Manage projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing sites as needed, primarily through virtual channels.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in industrial engineering and manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong emphasis on production systems design and optimization.
- Proven expertise in applying lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to model complex systems.
- Excellent virtual communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively in a **remote** environment.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably in high-volume production environments.
