Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Virtual Science Educator to design and deliver online science lessons for high school students across Cape Town and beyond, covering biology, chemistry and physics with interactive simulations.

The role includes online assessments, timely feedback, and staying current with online teaching methods, while contributing to a supportive, remote learning community and opportunities for growth within a growing EdTech company.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant science field or Science Education.
Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching science at the high school level.
Demonstrated experience with online teaching platforms and digital learning resources.
Ability to explain complex science concepts clearly and concisely.
Strong classroom management skills adapted for a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver comprehensive online science curricula, incorporating interactive simulations and experiments.
Engage students through virtual class discussions, Q&A sessions, and collaborative projects.
Develop and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, providing timely and actionable feedback.
Stay current with advancements in science education and online teaching methodologies.
Foster a supportive and inclusive online learning community for all students.
