Placements24 is seeking an experienced Driver Trainer to lead both on-site and fully remote training initiatives for heavy vehicle operators in South Africa. The role focuses on developing and delivering engaging training programs, assessing competency, and ensuring compliance with safety standards across the fleet.

The successful candidate will design practical sessions, mentor drivers, and drive a culture of safety and high performance within a forward-thinking logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a professional driver of heavy vehicles (e.g., Code 14).
• Proven experience in training or mentoring drivers, with a focus on safety.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of South African road traffic regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to create engaging training content and adapt training methods to different learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for drivers covering safe driving practices, fuel efficiency, vehicle operation, and customer service.
• Utilize virtual platforms and e-learning tools to conduct engaging and effective remote training sessions.
• Assess driver performance through observation, feedback, and practical evaluations, providing constructive guidance.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies relevant to driver training.
• Maintain accurate records of training participation, performance assessments, and certification status.
• Collaborate with the logistics and HR departments to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
