Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote GIS Analyst to support oil and gas operations from home. You will manage spatial data, create maps, and perform analyses to inform field operations and strategic planning for a leading energy company with activity in Mossel Bay.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS and at least 3 years of GIS experience, with ArcGIS/QGIS proficiency and PostGIS/SQL knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a GIS Analyst.
• Proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
• Experience with geospatial data formats and database management (SQL, PostGIS).
• Familiarity with energy industry data (well locations, pipelines, seismic data) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases for energy assets and infrastructure.
• Create thematic maps, spatial analysis reports, and visualizations for exploration, production, and environmental monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
