Placements24 is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Geoscientist to join their globally distributed exploration team. This position focuses on subsurface interpretation for the Oil & Gas sector with full-time remote work, enabling work from anywhere.

You will analyze geological and geophysical data, build geological models, and collaborate with remote teams across time zones to identify opportunities and guide drilling decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science field.
• 6+ years of experience in subsurface interpretation and exploration geology/geophysics.
• Proficiency with Petrel and GeoGraphix.
• Strong seismic data processing and basin analysis skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, well log, and other geological data to identify hydrocarbon prospects.
• Develop geological models and maps for subsurface structures and stratigraphy.

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Geoscientist to join their globally distributed exploration team. This position offers the flexibility of working entirely from home, focusing on subsurface interpretation for the Oil & Gas sector . You will be responsible for analyzing geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate exploration opportunities. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong technical skills in data interpretation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams across different time zones, contributing to global exploration strategies without the need for a fixed office location, supporting operations in regions like Mpumalanga and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, well log, and other geological datasets to identify and delineate hydrocarbon prospects.
• Develop geological models and maps to define subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
• Integrate multidisciplinary data (geological, geophysical, engineering) to assess prospectivity and risk.
• Contribute to exploration strategy, prospect ranking, and portfolio management.

Requirements
