Placements24 is seeking a meticulous General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team in a fully remote capacity. The role focuses on maintaining the general ledger, performing reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close process from anywhere in South Africa.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, have at least 3 years of general ledger experience, and are proficient in SAP/Oracle and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in general ledger accounting or similar role.
• Proficiency with accounting software SAP/Oracle and advanced Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage workload independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, posting journal entries and ensuring data accuracy.
• Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (bank, intercompany, accruals).
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits.
