Placements24 is seeking a talented Full-Stack Software Engineer for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will design, develop, and deploy robust web applications and microservices powering a SaaS product, using React/Vue/Angular on the frontend and Node.js/Python/Java on the backend.

You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver features, ensure code quality, and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across the full stack (front-end and back-end).
• Develop user-facing features using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java).
• Integrate front-end components with server-side logic and databases.
• Implement and manage RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and application stability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and at least one modern framework (React, Vue, Angular).
• Strong experience with back-end development using Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), or Java (Spring Boot).
• Solid understanding of database technologies, including relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills, suitable for a remote team environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote setup, not requiring presence in Durban .
