Placements24 is hiring a fully remote Full-Stack Developer in South Africa. The role focuses on building scalable fintech features and APIs, using a modern stack with React.js on the front end and Node.js on the back end.

You will collaborate with product managers and designers, ensure code quality, and contribute to architecture while maintaining high performance in a distributed, remote team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 3+ years of professional full-stack React/Node.js experience.
• Strong JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 skills.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and databases (PostgreSQL/MongoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with Git and modern frontend frameworks.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive front-end user interfaces using React.js and related technologies.
• Develop robust and scalable back-end services and APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Integrate with third-party services and APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code for both front-end and back-end components.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define requirements and implement new features.
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and responsiveness.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge within the team.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the full stack.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer, with at least 3 years of professional experience focused on React.js and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Expertise in Node.js and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Experience in the Fintech industry is a significant advantage.
