Job summary

E-Merge is seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to build AI-powered products end to end. You’ll work across frontend and backend with React, TypeScript and Python, and deploy to cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities include designing APIs, integrating LLM-powered features and RAG, and collaborating with ML teams. This permanent remote role in South Africa offers a salary of R800k per annum, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building full-stack web apps in production.
• Strong frontend skills: React, TypeScript, production-grade UIs.
• Strong backend skills: Python (FastAPI, Django, or similar) and API design.
• Relational databases experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL queries.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM features into a product (RAG, vector search).
• Cloud infra familiarity (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AI coding assistants to accelerate development while reviewing AI output.

Responsibilities

• Build production-grade full-stack web applications and APIs.
• Design scalable APIs and database solutions for web apps.
• Integrate LLM-powered features (RAG, vector search) into products.
• Collaborate with ML/AI teams and cloud infrastructure teams.
