Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Aviation Software Developer specializing in flight simulation technologies. The role is fully remote within South Africa, joining a distributed team to design, develop, and test advanced software for flight simulators used in pilot training.

You will work with C++, Python, and Java, focus on real-time physics, graphics, and avionics, and contribute to software design, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Software/Aerospace or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience in aviation or simulation.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python; strong OO programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance flight simulation software.
• Collaborate with engineers and SMEs to define requirements and specs.
• Write clean, well-documented code in C++, Python, or Java.
• Implement real-time physics, aerodynamics, and sensor modeling algorithms.
• Develop GUI interfaces for simulator control and data visualization.
• Perform rigorous testing and debugging of modules and systems.
• Contribute to software process improvements and tooling.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects in simulation environments.
• Document software design, functionality, and user guides.
