Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Fleet Operations Manager to lead and optimize a national fleet from a fully remote setup in South Africa. You will drive efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance across maintenance, procurement, and driver management, leveraging analytics to cut costs and improve performance.

You will oversee telematics systems, fuel management, and KPI tracking while managing remote teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in fleet management or related field.
• Experience managing large and diverse vehicle fleets.
• In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and telematics systems.
• Strong data analysis and ability to implement data-driven solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage remote teams effectively.
• Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance, repair, and scheduling for a diverse fleet.
• Manage fuel consumption, telematics, and driver behavior monitoring systems.
• Ensure compliance with all national and provincial transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Lead the procurement and disposal of fleet vehicles, negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and vendors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers, including workshops and insurers.
• Implement and manage driver safety programs and training initiatives.
• Utilize fleet management software and data analytics to track KPIs and identify improvements.
• Manage operational budgets and provide regular financial reports.
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability within the fleet operations team.
