Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Fleet Data Analyst to join its data intelligence team. This fully remote role focuses on collecting, processing, and analyzing large fleet datasets to drive fleet efficiency and cost reductions across South Africa.

You will build dashboards, forecast needs, and present insights to management, with emphasis on statistical modeling and ML techniques. Strong remote-work capabilities and a background in logistics are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science/Statistics/Math/CS).
• Minimum 4 years of data analysis experience, focused on operational or fleet data.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas/NumPy), R, and Excel.
• Experience with BI and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong statistical modeling and machine learning knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate clearly.
• Experience in logistics/transportation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize data from fleet management systems and telematics.
• Analyze fleet performance metrics: fuel, mileage, maintenance, driver behavior, delivery times.

Key Responsibilities
