Placements24 is seeking an innovative Remote Data Scientist specializing in Finance to support operations nationwide from an admin hub near Mahikeng. Leverage advanced analytics, ML, and statistical modeling to solve financial challenges and drive product innovation.

Work with large datasets to uncover insights and build predictive models for risk, fraud, and customer behavior. The role requires a PhD or Master's in a quantitative field, 5+ years of experience in finance-related data science,

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
At least 5 years as a Data Scientist, with finance focus.
Strong Python or R programming skills.
Proficient in SQL and big data tools (Spark/Hadoop).
Solid knowledge of statistical modeling and ML algorithms.
Experience in Banking & Finance sector.
Excellent problem-solving and remote collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy ML models for credit scoring, fraud detection, and analytics.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights for financial markets.
Build and maintain data pipelines ensuring data quality and accessibility.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define DS projects.
Communicate complex results clearly through visuals and reports.
Stay updated with advances in DS, ML, and AI.
